Why did I design this golf club?
Looking out our back window onto one of the greens at Royal Brighton Golf Course I noticed many players putting 30 to 40 metres out from the green and not making it. Others shanking their balls sideways into the bunker or overshooting the green entirely. I thought, “There must be a better way!”.
During a visit to Scotland with my wife in 2016, we called into R & A at St. Andrews (the home of golf) and enquired about getting permission to create a new approved golf club. It wasn’t easy, and there were many strict rules and regulations. Fortunately, with my son on hand to help with the design of the original prototype, we set about developing what would come to be known as the Chutter.
After three attempts, we were successful! It took six years to arrive at this point, with my will only wavering once or twice along the way. I have called the golf club a Chutter because it is a chipper and a putter hybrid.
So, if YOU are having trouble 10 to 50 metres out from the green, the Chutter could be your short-game saviour!
